media tracking

websites where you can log and write reviews for various media!

letterboxd	pretty popular site for logging and reviewing movies
myanimelist	logging and ranking manga and anime !
anilist	another site for logging and ranking manga and anime. i personally prefer mal for its simplicity though, but a lot of people like anilist's UI better
mydramalist	similar to mal, but for asian movies and tv !
goodreads	super famous site for reviewing and logging books
howlongtobeat	game logging site ! i only use this to see how long a game takes to beat though 0-0
serializd	logs tv shows specifically. i havent used this one yet, but ive heard its pretty good

websites to take all sorts of college courses !! some are free, while others are paid :(

coursera	has all kinds of free n paid college courses, as well as just normal certificates. this is by far the biggest one, and they have some nice courses on here. i personally recommend yonsei's intro to korean course, uc santa cruz's feminism and social justice course, and yale's intro to psych !!
edx	edx has some pretty cool harvard courses (free to audit, paid for certificate). be careful though, since recently its just become almost all ai slop "courses" ( • ᴖ • ｡). i really liked their harvard justice course though !
open university	OU has a lot smaller of a catalog than the others, but it has some really cool niches. i havent done any of their courses yet, but im hoping to do their intro to european crime fiction short course soon

websites to learn basically everything for free !! perfect for the people like me who cant seem to stick to one task..

typing club	typing tutorials ! might not seem like much but this has seriously gotten me to type faster!!
instructables	probably my favorite of the bunch. instructables has tutorials for all sorts of crafts from woodworking to circuits to cooking !! its like an all in one recipe book :00
music theory	like the name suggests, music theory lessons !! i find their ear training to be the best its super helpful
animated knots	almost too specific, but tutorials for tying knots !! they have knots for climbing, boating, fishing and scouting, and the way the tutorial is set up (animated) is really simple to follow
lichess	learn how to play chess !! never personally used this one, but it seems like pros do ദ്ദി(｡•̀ ᗜ<)
chesskid	now THIS is my GOAT. although its marketed for kids, this is the most helpful to learn chess imo. my dad still has my childhood account and has a score of like 2000 wins in a span of like a decade waow. be like my dad and pull this app when ur bored instead of doomscrolling !
