these stupid gay idiots ruined my life!!!!! im DISTRAUGHT after finishing this it's the best danmei, no actually one of the best romances, ive ever read.. wait for me after school by jiang zi bei (酱子贝) follows yu fan, a scary delinquent, who one day receives a pink love letter from the stoic top student, chen jingshen. he curses him out, but his ears are bright red the entire time. the way the gong slowly entices the tsundere shou is SO much fun to read omg. its a slowburn, defintely, but these guys are flirting 24/7. the payoff when they finally get together is so so so satisfying omg. and jiang zi bei is SUCH a good author too. the shou describing simple things the gong does in such a romantic and sensual way is SUCHH a good way of showing his feelings for him without being outright !!! his gayass is like "his large, veiny hands reached up and gently caressed my scalp. i froze, leaning up to look at his handsome face, his adam's apple bobbing", and its like.. the gong pulling confetti out of his hair.. LMAOO

the angst is so good too ?? i usually never get emotional reading stuff, but i couldnt sleep for an entire night because i was THAT distraught!! and i usually DESPISE timeskips cause it just feels lazy and like the author had to shove angst somewhere, but here i really really enjoyed it 🤤🤤 im also a bit annoyed with danmei's for giving their characters SO much unnecesary trauma, but here it also makes sense. it seems like something that could actually happen. and i really liked the trope of someone with super overprotective parent x someone with a deadbeat criminal parent. they are both suffering in their own way and use each other to heal. URGHHH. also dont even get me STARTED on the art its so yummy wow i was kind of artbaited into reading this.. what kind of godlike powers does this artist have..

also dont be an IDIOT like me and read this at night listening to jay chou (background audio is his song 'simple love' :p). i cant listen to jay chou without crying anymore !!!! i had to listen to catallena on repeat to calm myself down LMAO. jiang zi bei KNOWS how to write her settings. the school setting in this is GORGEOUS take me there take me there !!! the friendships actually seem like real teenage friendships, and the romance feels like an angsty teen's romance. this is the only danmei ive read so far that makes the characters seem fully human. maybe that's just because this is the only modern danmei ive read so far, but the relationships feel SO real.
